The Awareness Film Night Season Finale on May 10th will feature the film “Power To Change: The Energy Rebellion” and a post screening discussion with 2 local installers of renewable energy systems.
“Power To Change” is a recent release from Germany that outlines a wealth of green-friendly innovations and the figures behind them. It tells the stirring stories of battling pioneers, of amateur tinkerers, of entrepreneurs, of ordinary folks wanting to lessen their carbon footprint and of inventive and surprising technologies.
The film has a clear message: a complete turnaround in energy policy towards 100% renewables is possible and it can be achieved much faster than its opponents would have you believe.
Bring your queries about solar, wind and small hydro energy systems for the post screening discussion with Steve Unger and Clayton Fischer, members of the Viridian Energy Co-operative, a workers’ co-op that designs and installs renewable energy systems on Vancouver Island.
The event runs from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Edward Milne Community School theatre, 6218 Sooke Rd. in Sooke.
As always, admission is by donation. Visit Awareness Film Night online for more information.
