The signs are no longer temporary laminated paper posts stapled onto hydro poles. The sign is up. It’s possibly long term.
Access was originally restricted in June, 2017, when the staircase collapsed during an elementary school outing.
An August 1 release from the District suggested that “upon completion of geotechnical and archeological assessments, we will begin the process of tendering the project for construction in the fall of 2017.”
Also out of service in that general area is the public washroom, which was closed at the beginning of the summer due to vandalism.
Currently, the District’s tender and bid page shows calls are out for the DeMamiel Creek Pedestrian Crossing and the Broomhill Park Play Structure projects.
