DRIVING: ICBC releases its Hall of Shame with these top six fraud files from 2015 — 4 Comments

  1. I’ve only dealt with ICBC twice. Once when I tagged a deer on my way to the station the other when I was rear ended heading to work (same vehicle, 14 months apart). Both times I was found not at fault, paid my deductible, and had the vehicle repaired at an ICBC approved shop.

Only issue I had was with the rental while my vehicle was being repaired. They tried to force me into a two door compact when I had a family six, including twins (under 3). After much complaining I got the free vehicle upgrade.

  2. Comparing rates with those across Canada cannot be meaningful without comparing coverages. Generally, my experiences with them have been good: deer vs car, rear-ended at a pedestrian crosswalk, and a hit and run (the car was parked and I wasn’t in it)
