–News from the District of Sooke
At the last Council Meeting, held on January 9, 2017, Sooke Mayor Maja Tait announced the addition of Public Input sessions immediately prior to Regular Council meetings. Read Mayor Taits opening address here.
The first such meeting will begin on January 23, 2017.
During these informal sessions, the public is invited to address Mayor and Council regarding any issue of concern that falls within Council’s authority.
An informal “Town Hall” meeting format will be used to promote open dialogue.
Public Input sessions will continue through to the month of April on a trial basis. If the public finds these sessions valuable, Mayor and Council will consider extending them on a more permanent basis.
Public Input Meetings will be held in the Council Chambers at 2225 Otter Point Road, and will be held on the following days:
