A quick summary of last night’s Regular Council meeting:
The 2014 Plebiscite: Council will be submitting a resolution to the AVICC to uphold a position against increased tanker traffic, A letter to the Ministry of Environment restating Sooke’s position, as well as an invite to Kinder Morgan to present to Council.
The Sooke Horse Shoe Pitching Association received the go ahead to pursue their activities in Sooke River Park. This matter has been on ongoing since 2011, so its great to see this resolved. Angled parking will be installed in the municipal road right-of-way.
Our local historian Elida Peers brought forward a report to formally change Cooper Cove to Cooper’s Cove.
Phase Two of the Connector (Phillips to Charters – not Throup as I stated earlier) will be submitted to the Build Canada Infrastructure Grant program.
These meetings are webcast, and may be viewed via the link below. Minutes are posted after adoption by Council.
