The SFRS Community Thrift Shop is a BC Hydro Community Champion. We here in Sooke have known it all along, and now it’s been financially confirmed: the SFRS Community Thrift Shop is a winner.
The BC Hydro announced the following on their website.

These 5 Champion organizations will receive $10,000 to help continue their conservation projects and to help make B.C. more sustainable.

- Society Promoting Environmental Conservation
- Sooke Family Resource Society (woot woot!!)
- Burrard Inlet Marine Enhancement Society
- A Rocha Canada
There are a total of five (5) Community Champions conservation awards available to be won by Eligible Organizations, each consisting of a donation of up to ten thousand dollars ($10,000 CDN) distributed over two years ($5,000 for the first year and $5,000 for the second year). Three (3) Community Champions will be selected by Public Voting and two (2) will be awarded by Judges’ Panel. Up to 15 semi-finalists will be eligible for public voting.
