From March 29 to April 3, BC Ferries is adding 74 extra sailings on two routes between Metro Vancouver and Vancouver Island to ensure smooth sailing for travellers over the busy Easter long weekend.
On the Tsawwassen – Swartz Bay route, which is the busiest of the 25 routes BC Ferries operates, the company is adding 62 sailings, while 12 additional sailings are scheduled between Horseshoe Bay and Departure Bay. Six additional sailings are also scheduled between Horseshoe Bay and Langdale.
The most popular travel times are expected to be mid-day Thursday, March 29, to late morning Friday, March 30, with traffic returning on the holiday Monday, April 2, afternoon.
To assist customers with their travel plans, BC Ferries has posted a calendar of what are forecasted to be the most popular sailings for travel on its major routes between Metro Vancouver – Vancouver Island and Metro Vancouver – Sunshine Coast this Easter long weekend on bcferries.com. BC Ferries encourages customers to make a reservation for this busy travel period to ensure the sailing of their choice. Customers may also wish to consider using transit or being dropped-off at terminals as our parking lots are also popular over Easter long weekend.
Early morning and late evening savings will also be available on select sailings during the Easter long weekend and Spring Break travel period. From March 15 – April 3, standard underheight vehicles and drivers can travel from $39 on over 300 select sailings between Tsawwassen – Swartz Bay, Tsawwassen – Duke Point, Horseshoe Bay – Departure Bay and Horseshoe Bay – Langdale.
