Annie can’t see. She was born blind.
Her parents, Ken and Connie, have devoted their lives to supporting their daughter and developing her interest in music.
Unfortunately, they have hit upon hard times.
Annie’s dad, Ken, has bone cancer and has not been able to work for months. His prognosis is poor, despite surgery and other treatments. Annie’s Mom, Connie, has always stayed at home to accommodate Annie’s special needs. Connie doesn’t drive and has depended upon Ken to support them.
The family is devastated. They have decided to leave Sooke, their home for the last 16 years, to be closer to Connie’s family in Alberta. But, they need money for the move.
On Saturday, August 6th starting at 6:00 p.m., the Sooke Legion will be hosting a Beer, Burger and BANDS Benefit for the Morissette family. This fundraiser will help them finance their move.
Tickets are $20 each and includes a burger, fries, beverage and a full evening of live music. The bands volunteering for this benefit include Group Therapy, Gals I Like, Comfort Zone, HOOZ Band, Dave Gallant & Friends and Syzygy Blue. Annie will be performing with Syzygy Blue.
It promises to be a sensational evening with an array of musical genres performed by brilliant local artists!
Tickets are available at The Reading Room, Shoppers Drug Mart and at the door. There is a limited supply.
