Sooke Region Volunteer Center under Sooke Region Communities Health Network is pleased to provide Sooke Region Better at Home Program. This program is designed to help seniors with those simple day to day tasks, allowing them to continue to live independently and stay connected to our Community.
Under this program, seniors aged 65+, regardless of their household income, will have access to NON-MEDICAL home services, with affordable fees based on their yearly household income.
This program is funded by the government of BC, through the Ministry of Health and United Way of the Lower Mainland manage the Better at Home program across BC. Currently, there are 67 Better at Home programs across the province and our Sooke location is one of the latest, which joins the network.
We are very excited about this program as we know how many seniors we have in our community. Seniors are so important and growing part of our community and their active involvement enriches everyone’s lives. We know that to ensure that older adults continue to play an active part in our community, they often need support to live independently in their own homes, surrounded by friends, families and neighbours.
