The Sooke Folk Music Society is proud to announce Bill Hamilton as the feature performer for the Coffee House Saturday, March 16, 2019.
Bill will be offering us captivating originals as well as international classic hits. His music is performed with exceptional range, depth and delivery. He is known for his beautiful guitar work, powerful delivery and entertaining interpretations of classic tunes.
Bill has been a performer since his teens working with other musicians in folk and rock formats and also as a solo singer songwriter. In those formative years he was captivated by the sounds of Bob Dylan, Paul Simon, the Beatles, Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, Aretha Franklin, Carol King, CCR, James Taylor, Gordon Lightfoot, and more. Those artists became major influences in his music.
As a songwriter, his tunes have been described as uplifting, with a touch of McCartney charm. He writes about relationships, natural wonders, mysterious legends, love, family life, and more. Some of his inspiration arises from living at Fisherman’s Wharf in Victoria with his family.
Not just a singer-songwriter, Bill is also an artful and humorous story teller. He easily engages with the audience and offers them insights into the background of his songs.
He’s performed in everything from Folk Festivals to Theatrical Productions …… a man for all musical seasons! An inspired singer, he looks forward to sharing his love of music with his audience.
You won’t want to miss this engaging performer.
