Mid afternoon on the first day of summer saw a small grass fire in the brush, along the 2200 block of Otter Point Road. The small fire was quickly brought under control by the Sooke Fire Rescue Service. There’s some impact on traffic.
According to Sooke Fire, “the cause is determined as human, and numerous (25+) discarded cigarettes were found in the initial fire location. This area is a known rest spot for that unofficial trail network.”
