Veteran Canadian rockers CHILLIWACK will be performing at the Sooke Community Theatre, EMCS (Edward Milne Community School), 6218 Sooke Road, Sooke, BC on Saturday March 12. One hundred per cent of the proceeds from the show will go to support two Sooke organizations – Sooke Crisis Centre and the EMCS Society. Produced by WAM Productions and EMCS Society.
The Sooke Crisis Centre provides a full spectrum of emergency assistance for the Sooke community. Apart from a small provincial grant, the SCC rely on donations from the community. EMCS Society is a registered non-profit society that oversees educational, vocational, cultural and social programs, projects, and services developed to meet the needs of the community.
Chilliwack has charted numerous hits over the years and in 1982 Henderson shared Best Producer Juno Award with (then) band guitarist Brian McLeod.
Rolling Stone Magazine wrote,“At their best, Chilliwack was the finest Canadian rock band, outrocking BTO and outwriting Burton Cummings.”
Doors at the Sooke show will open at 7 p.m. and opening act STERLING, based in Victoria, will take to the stage at 7:30 p.m. for a half-hour set of their original material.
Tickets are $40 and are available online through Eventbrite.ca, or locally through Sooke Shoppers Drug Mart, The Stick in the Mud Coffee and EMCS Society. Our sponsor: Prestige Oceanfront Resort, Sooke, BC.
