Vital Vittles is celebrating 15 years in operation.
It all started when Don, one of our homeless, mentioned to Pastor Harry (of the Holy Trinity Church) that he wished there was someplace warm and dry that he could get a cup of coffee. Coffee turned into sandwiches and then quickly became soup and sandwich.
Andy from Sooke 2 for 1 Pizza and the food bank has provided right from the beginning and there was huge support from others in the community along the way. The kitchen has a great group of volunteers.
Presently Vital Vittles puts out a four course meal every Friday at the Holy Trinity Church from 11:30 – 1:00.
Holy Trinity Anglican Church (1962 Murray Road) hosts the Vital Vittles Free Lunch. Call 250-642-3172 for information, or just drop by! It’s open to everyone.
