Zero Waste Sooke is organizing a Craft Materials Swap to help the people in Sooke reduce our waste. We welcome the general public to attend. Donations gladly accepted.
Our first Craft Materials Swap will be held on Wednesday, October 16, from 6:30-8:00 pm at the Sooke Public Library (2065 Anna Marie Road).
What can you do with leftover supplies once your crafts projects are finished? Stash them in your storage closet; and watch them accumulate dust? Throw them away, all the while feeling guilty about the waste?
Why not bring your craft supplies (beads, fabric, yarn, paint, etc.) to the swap? Take home only the ones you want to use. Zero Waste Sooke will even find a good home for the leftover materials.
“It’s always fun to get new supplies to make crafts. But what to do with materials from an old hobby? People have been talking about sharing craft supplies they no longer need.” says Paula Johanson, Zero Waste Sooke member and the organizer of the Craft Materials Swap. “Come on by and have fun trading materials for something you’ll enjoy using.”
