DriveSmartBC: Parental consent and control of new drivers — 1 Comment

  1. Please don’t withdraw consent for insurance. It’s a tactic that could force your child into a lifetime of debt. It doesn’t stop your child from driving; it stops your child from driving an insured vehicle. If they have an accident, it won’t be covered. Not just the car, but any medical coverage for your child will be denied by ICBC. Any payments for damage to another person’s vehicle, private property, or bodily injury will become a debt to ICBC. Your child could owe ICBC millions of dollars. This is literally the most horrible parenting advice I have ever seen.
