West Shore RCMP apprehended two unrelated impaired drivers in just over an hour of each other on a Friday night.
Just after 11:00 p.m. on February 25, 2022, the West Shore RCMP received a report of possible impaired driver in the 1700 block of Island Highway in View Royal. A description of the vehicle and a license plate number was provided to police.
Frontline police located the vehicle a short time later in the area of Wishart Road (in Colwood) and conducted an impaired investigation. A 29-year-old male was served with an Immediate Roadside Prohibition and his vehicle was picked up by the tow truck for impoundment.
While the tow truck was towing the vehicle, another vehicle struck the tow truck on the driver’s side door by another alleged impaired driver in the 600 Block of Latoria Road. Frontline police officers responded immediately and conducted another impaired investigation. A 17-year-old, with a learner’s license, was arrested and released on an undertaking to an adult with a court date in June 2022.
There were no physical injuries sustained from the collision.
