Earlier today, Cutrell rolled up his sleeves to donate blood for his 150th time. He started donating in 1988. In his own words:
[Today] was my 150th donation.
I started donating blood in 1988, while still in high school in Edmonton, AB. I donated whole blood until my 50th donation, then switched to donating plasma and platelets, which both have a shorter period between donations.
In 2004, I moved to Colwood to work with the Royal Canadian Navy full time, and switched back to doing whole blood donations at local clinics.
In 2009, I moved to Sooke with my family, and joined the fire department. Since then, I have made donations at both the Sooke and Esquimalt base blood donor clinics. I have also made donations in support of the military and the Sooke Fire Rescue Service as well
