After weeks of hard work from both students and parent volunteers, the EMCS Grad Fashion Show 2015 went off without a hitch Sunday April 12 at 6:30 pm.
In front of over 200 theatre goers, the Grads performed all their choreographed songs flawlessly. From the opening number, wearing checked 2015 pajama bottoms and enthusiastically dancing to hits from 1997 (the year most Grads were born) to popular hits of 2015, to the final Prom scene, the night was a resounding success. Clothing was provided by all Canadian companies, many of them local including Boutique West, HtO, Nygaard, Moores, Extreme and Shades of White.
Many thanks to the parents who helped out behind the scenes with clothing changes and pickups from stores and designing of posters and programs and gathering donations.
- Hair and make up was a volunteer effort from some fantastic Sooke talent – Pure Elements
- Jenn Devin’s Beautiful Bliss Esthetics
- Sonia Powers Sonia’s Artistry and Melanie Dawson-Whisker
While many of the participating Grads worked as a team in choreographing the dance/song routines a special thanks goes to former Grad Kyla Lovbakke.
Flowers were generously donated by Deanna Stump, the flower lady and owner of Food Cab. MC’s this year were Paul Butterfield and Jodi Mellott who did an amazing job at keeping the audience entertained. The EMCS tech crew made sure the sound and lights added to the ambience.[sam id=”5″ codes=”true”]Something different than in past years was the addition of a Silent Auction which all helped in raising money towards Grad fees. There were over 40 wonderful donations including a $500 package to Focus driving school, a night at the Prestige, a fishing rod from Crab Shack, carpets from Jordan’s carpets, beautiful gift baskets and gift certificates from Arbonne to Epicure and many more.
Hopefully this Grad tradition will continue in the years to come. Well done Grads of 2015!
