On Saturday, August 24, from 10:30-12 local author Trudy Spiller will be at the Sooke branch of Vancouver Island Regional Library for a reading of her children’s book Trudy’s Healing Stone.
This is a free event for families and children aged 3-9.
This engaging First Nation’s story teaches that is it okay to have all kinds of feelings and offers ways to process and release negative thoughts.
Local Author Trudy Spiller is part of the Gitxsan Nation of British Columbia and belongs to the House of Gwininitxw of the Wolf Clan. Trudy and her siblings were brought up to believe that children are like flowers. Today, she helps families to grow and flourish by sharing her knowledge of First Nation medicine, food, dress, and practices.
By sharing her stories, Trudy hopes to make knowledge keepers of us all.
