From Coltyn Wallin, on the GoFundMe page:
This is “Kitti” she is a Mastiff cross she is a beautiful, sweet loving dog. For the people who don’t know the story about “Kitti,” on April 16th Kiara Taylor and I (Coltyn Wallin) witnessed someone abandoning her at the Sooke Potholes. The owners let her out of their car and started slowly driving away. At first we thought they were just letting “Kitti” run beside the car. Ten minutes later she came back crying. Fifteen minutes with her being scared with her tail between her legs, she eventually opened up to us and got into our jeep. We waited another 20 minutes and the car did not come back for her, so we took her home, and posted her online after no leads to finding her owner. We reached out to CHEK News and her story went viral.
We fell in love with “Kitti.” We would love to keep her but where I am living, we are not allowed dogs (Currently looking for a new place).
We are asking for donations to help get her checked out by a vet and so she can get de-wormed, de-flea’d, vaccinated, micro-chipped, and spayed, and we can get pet insurance. As well as pet deposit once we find a new place.
We fell in love with “Kitti” and it would kill us to give her away. Anything will help ❤ We thank you for listening to her story ❤
Big Thanks to Margarita at Victoria pet food bank “Boneless Project” for donating food and helping us out and pointing us in the right direction.

The female dog in question is the one that was abandoned in Potholes a week ago. Her owner came forward apologizing for his action and after that her ownership was settled the young couple who found her felt in love with her and wish to keep her.
The SPCA offered them to surrender her to them, but the couple did not want her to go through more stress locked up in a kennel. The decided to do the fostering themselves.
This is a young couple in their twenties and we believe that their action of rescuing the dog and of going to the media to find her owner needs to serve as an example to their generation. We would love them to be rewarded with donations to pay for her veterinary fees, pet health insurance and security deposit. The young boy is ready to leave his mother house and work to pay for a rental just to do not abandon Kitty. She seems to trust him and to love them both.
