Highway 14’s future taking shape, Sooke River Road intersection on the horizon — 3 Comments

  1. I miss the good old days when, if the BC Premier was your local MPP, you could be sure that highway spending in your riding would take first priority.

With Horgan, we get bus pull-outs.

  2. More marginal improvements while ignoring the elephant in the room – the road is not designed to take the current and growing traffic volume. “Improving” bus service will merely add to the traffic volume hell. Realignment of large sections to eliminate the tight curves and to provide more room on the verges for drivers to get clear of potential accidents in the making should be absolute top priority. The work of fixing the Sooke River Road intersection to make it safer for pedestrians and cyclists should make for more interesting traffic jams for all the long-suffering commuters over the next year or so. Why can’t our MLA just bite the bullet and order Trevena to get this road re-aligned??? Maybe we should encourage the mayor of Langford to run provincially next time. He seems to be able to get important things done rather than studying them to death.
