We invite you to come and join us Thursday June 27th at our Westshore AVI Health Centre, 111-2787 Jacklin Road, for National HIV Testing Day. After territory acknowledgements, and a welcome from Elder Shirley Alfonse, NDP Member of Parliament Randal Garrison will provide opening remarks, followed by folks who are living with HIV, and Board members from VIPWAS (https://vpwas.com/) and AVI (http://avi.org/). 5:00-6:00 pm
An educational update on HIV, PrEP and the U=U Movement will take place afterwards, and refreshments will be served.
Our AVI Health Centre nurse will be on site to offer free HIV tests and we will have support and education staff on hand to answer your questions and offer support. 5:00-8:00 pm
Cool AID and Doctors of the World staff who partner with AVI’ Men’s Wellness Program and offer outreach, GBMSM Testing and PrEP access in Victoria, will also be on-site to answer questions about their programs.
Accessibility information: At the AVI Westshore office there are no stairs and there is one single stalled, wheelchair accessible washroom. Free Parking is available onsite.
Please help us diminish stigma and misinformation about HIV by coming out and showing your support.
With thanks to the Canadian AIDS Society for their support and National Campaign.
