TOMORROW, April 7, at 7 p.m. Sorry for the short notice, I just found this out myself. A longer version of this announcement is on the Transition Sooke website.
A delegation from Kinder Morgan’s Trans Mountain pipeline expansion project will be addressing Sooke Council during a Committee of the Whole meeting this coming Tuesday night at 7 p.m.

Kinder Morgan will defend its plan for pipeline expansion and increased tanker traffic before Sooke Council on Tuesday night. If this plan is accepted, the tanker traffic in the strait of Juan de Fuca will increase from 60 to 408 supertankers a year, and the risks for oil spills in this region will become unacceptably high.
With climate change rampant, we believe now is the time to transition away from dirty fossil fuels and to invest in clean energy, instead of expanding the greenhouse gas producing tar sands. Because Supernatural BC, the Best Place on Earth, deserves to be treated with respect.
Come and show your support for a sustainable, healthy, green future by attending the council meeting. Speak your truth, ask your questions or listen to the debate.
