KLWD Bylaw 194 – Authorizing the borrowing of $2,000,000 for funding the Kemp Lake Water Source Replacement Project (Connection to CRD water).
The Kemp Lake Waterworks District (KLWD) plans to connect to the CRD water system in order to comply with the Ministry of Health Drinking Water Treatment Objectives (Microbiological). This connection is estimated to cost $2 million dollars.
Bylaw 194 authorizes the KLWD to borrow the money from a lending institution on a long term loan, amortized over 25 years.
If you agree with authorization of the Bylaw you are not required to do anything.
If you disagree with authorization of the Bylaw you will need to complete and turn in an Alternative Approval Elector Response Form by 4:00 pm on Friday, June 8 2018 per the instructions on the return form.
An informational open house will be held at the Juan de Fuca Local Area Services Building (#3 – 7450 Butler Road, Sooke) on Sunday, May 27th, 2018 1:00pm to 3:00pm for property owners to ask questions about the project and the alternative approval process.
