The economy of breath
This week’s Life Hack coping skill is to help you train better with out taking the time to train longer.
There is a breath pattern you can use to make your body super efficient using oxygen. Doing the following breath will increase the oxygen carrying capacity of your blood. When you have more oxygen in your blood your muscles work better so you can run faster.
- Inhale the breath through the nose in four distinct sniffs
- Exhale the breath through the nose in four distinct sniffs.
How does it work?
Your body only takes in a limited amount of oxygen with each sniff so it turns on the mechanism that says to use that oxygen efficiently. You go farther and faster on the same level of training because your blood has higher oxygenation.
