Long-established business with improper zoning & licensing plagues politicians, business owner and neighbours — 6 Comments

  1. One might argue that having a business of this nature beside a salmon spawning stream is all that is needed to rescind its business licence. How can anyone think this is right or allowable?

  2. It simply boggles the mind that an individual can flaunt the bylaws expecting NO repercussions and in deed there are none.
Just who exactly is running this ship?

  3. Let’s all try and remember which councillors voted to give this guy a 2 year temp. License to run a business that shouldn’t be there in the first place. Typical Sooke council let anyone open a business anywhere not bother with a business license and not pay the correct amount of taxes and then when he doesn’t cease and desist offer him a 2 year get out of jail free card that can also be renewed. It’s like the inmates are running the zoo!!!

  4. Logins and Tait were the only ones who voted against giving this guy a temp. License, the rest of council voted for it except Reay who was absent. I can tell you who won’t be getting my vote come voting day. These councillors have let the surrounding neighbours and Sooke tax payerS down REMEMBER their names!

  5. Politics is the art of postponing decisions until they are no longer relevant. – Henri Queuille, former French PM… but… it doesn’t have to be this way! Let’s Be The Change!

  6. this is typical for Kevin Pearson to cave in on any challenge that takes courage to do the right thing.
Remembering the land owner that came to council with a threat to turn his ALR land into a pig farm. Kevin Pearson was the first to support it and say he would support taking the land out of the ALR. They still refer to him as ‘Cave-in Pearson’
