Sooke Community Choir’s artistic director Bruce Ruddell was awarded the prestigious Herbert Drost Award from the BC Choral Federation ahead of the intermission at the choir’s Sunday, December 8, 2019 performance of their winter concert, “This Shining Night” at the Sooke Community Hall.
The award recognizes distinguished choral service within BC. Presenters were the federation’s Vancouver Island Regional Director Frances Pollet and board member in charge of communications Christine Chepyha who described Ruddell’s career as “remarkable” and that he is recognized for his contributions to developing community through the arts and inspiring leadership.
