Dear Premier Horgan,
There is a lot of confusion regarding the upcoming travel ban.
It is stated that no one can travel, out of their health authority. Now the government is saying residents of BC costal and Fraser Health can travel between their areas even though they have the majority of cases.
You, Premier Horgan, stated that people from Victoria can’t go to Nanaimo or Tofino even when they are within the same health authority.
You say local travel only on the Island but mainland BC can travel at will and the only police checks will be at the ferry terminals.
These two travel comments are contradictory, prejudicial, unfair, and divisive.
You can’t have a law that bans travel between health authorities and exempt some major areas as described.
You have failed to ban international flights from hotspots like India, this looks like a major source of infections and new variants.
The government’s vague, broad plans are creating a lot of confusion in these troubling times. You have to be fair and treat all areas equally or be region-specific reacting to COVID case counts.
