The Sooke fire rating sign along Highway 14 was reading Moderate just before noon today. The Otter Point Fire Department has dropped their rating to Low.
In other news, the weather is wet and cold and sweater-worthy on this mid June-uary day.
FIRE HAZARD LOW
Fire Hazard has dropped to low. Keep checking our hazard signs every time you enter the district.
June 30th is the last day for opening burning which between now and then still requires a permit. Call the hall, 250-642-6211, for a permit and/or information. Generally some one there Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm. If no answer, please leave a message and we will get back to you as soon as we are able.
There is no open burning other than campfires allowed during July, August and September.
Thank you and have a fun and safe summer season (if it ever gets here).
