7:50 p.m.: Good News! Fire is contained.
Sunday, Aug 23, 7:21 p.m.:
Sooke PocketNews will update this file as we get the information. Currently, all we know is that there is a brush fire at around the 3100 block of Otter Point. People who live North/West of Robertson need to use Kemp Lake Road. Otter Point is closed between Laronde and Robinson.
Four fire departments are on the scene: Otter Point, Sooke, Shirley and Metchosin.
[sam id=”15″ codes=”true”]We were unable to get in to get a photo, but we did see these home owners soaking down their house as a prevention measure.
The District of Sooke just reported that 10 homes have been evacuated. Emergency Reception is in the Sooke Community Hall. Keep an eye on our Traffic page, as that is where we stream all tweets from the District of Sooke and our fire fighters.
