The Otter Point volunteer fire department issued the following statement on Facebook today:
Please stay on guard! Nothing changes.
It would takes days of continuous rain to have any effect on the hazard rating. With the hazard being the same, extreme, for a long period it is easy to get complacent. Even though the hazard was at extreme weeks ago, remember it still gets drier and drier each day without rain. We just don’t have any more words to use above ‘Extreme’. This rain today so far only means that it is not getting drier and more hazardous today than yesterday.
Thank you for your continued vigilance.
