Wind Warning in Effect
Arctic air is spreading onto the coast from the BC Interior and winds are rising in response through the mainland inlets. The winds filtering through Howe Sound are moving southeast towards Victoria, with a contribution from instability over the relatively warm waters of the Strait of Georgia. A prolonged wind event is possible beyond Tuesday as the arctic air deepens.
High winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break. Avoid wooded areas to prevent injury from falling trees or branches. Campers should move to sturdy shelters.
Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to email@example.com or tweet reports to #BCStorm.
