Rainfall warning in effect for West Vancouver Island
Near 100 mm of rain is expected for the northern area of Vancouver Island, in the area near Zeballos and Tahsis.
A pair of Pacific disturbances are approaching the south coast of BC and will bring heavy rain and gusty winds to West Vancouver Island.
The heavy rain will taper to showers Friday afternoon, with total rainfall near 100 mm. Further south, communities like Tofino and Port Renfrew will likely see a slight break in the rain Friday morning before it redevelops. Total rainfall amounts across the south are expected to be from 40 to 70 mm by Friday night.
Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.
Rainfall warnings are issued when significant rainfall is expected.
