Environment Canada forecasts “significant snowfall” from Friday to Saturday. From Environment Canada:
Significant snowfall expected Friday night and Saturday.
Pacific moisture will begin to collide with the arctic front along Vancouver Island Friday night. Snow that is forecast to start Friday evening will persist through Saturday morning. It’s uncertain at this time how much snow will fall, but computer models are beginning to agree on amounts of 15 to 25 cm.
Wind chill values will range from minus 10 to minus 25.
Rising surface pressures over the BC interior will continue to drive arctic air through mainland valleys and inlets this week. Frigid temperatures and strong outflow winds are expected.
Temperatures will begin to rebound over the weekend.
Ensure that shelter is provided for pets and outdoor animals. Be prepared for unusually cold temperatures and strong winds.
