Saturday Sept 1 2018 is this years date for the annual Whiffen Spit Beach Art event, a celebration of the creative process.
Children and adults are invited to compete for cash prizes and ribbons for best sculpture made of found items from the Spit.
Families, clubs, teams and individuals can come to the Spit at 11 am to register at the white tent. No early registration is required. Just show up and go to work on your art.
As soon as registration is complete, your group can find its place on the beach and let the art begin! You must use only found objects from the beach. Nothing may be brought onto site including tools – the art installation must be assembled from driftwood, rocks, seaweed and other debris scavenged from the beach.
Cash prizes and ribbons for 1st, 2nd and 3rd will be awarded.
