A second-degree murder charge has been laid against 35-year-old Anthony Dheensaw in connection to the death of 40-year-old West Shore resident, Angela Dalman. Anthony Dheensaw has also been charged with the attempted murder of a 41-year-old man.
Further information on the victims will not be released and the families of the victims have requested their privacy be respected at this difficult time.
On March 6th, 2020, shortly after 9:30 p.m., the West Shore RCMP received a report of a shooting that took place outdoors near the 800 block of Arncote Ave in Langford. Police arrived on the scene to find Angela Dalman had been shot and later succumbed to her injuries. Anthony Dheensaw was identified as the suspect and had left the scene prior to police arrival in a vehicle. The Vancouver Island Emergency Response team was mobilized to locate the suspect.
At approximately 9:30 a.m. on March 7th, Anthony Dheensaw was located by the Saanich Police Department K-9 unit and he was safely brought into custody.
“The West Shore RCMP is committed to ensuring the safety of our citizens,” said Inspector Todd Preston, Officer in Charge of West Shore RCMP. “We believe this was an isolated crime and there is no on-going risk the public. West Shore remains a safe family-oriented community.”
