From Environment Canada, issued 3:01 PM PST Saturday 13 February 2021
On the heels of a snow-producing storm on Saturday, a second storm will arrive on the south coast on Sunday and last until Monday. This second storm will see a transition from snow to rain for most areas of Vancouver Island and Metro Vancouver.
Vancouver Island:
The storm will begin as snow for Vancouver Island on Sunday morning before transitioning to rain early in the afternoon for southern areas and to late in the evening for northern areas. Nanaimo may experience greater snowfall from a later transition to rain due to Howe Sound outflow.
Snowfall amounts will vary due to the timing of the transition and additional alerts may be issued once snowfall amounts become more certain.
