–From the Sooke Arts Council newsletter
Recognizing the need for growth and more visibility in the community, the Sooke Arts Council has opened a gallery and office in Sooke.
Located at the corner of Church Road and Sooke Road, by Jenny’s Tea Shoppe, the space will allow for art shows, various classes by members and hold much potential for growth of the arts community.
The Gallery opens and the first art show begins Saturday, August 15 showing art by the members who worked to make the gallery a reality.
It is also featuring works by and in memory of former Sooke councillor Brenda Parkinson and artist-member Lili Wilde.
