Sooke entrepreneurs: Share your experiences with tomorrow’s entrepreneurs through Junior Achievement
Junior Achievement (JA) is recruiting business professionals from the local business community to mentor students in JA’s Company Program at Edward Milne Community School in Sooke. Volunteer a small amount of time and make a BIG impact. Guest speak in the classroom, talk about your business experience perhaps focusing on one particular challenge you were able to overcome and how you did so.
JA’s Company Program inspires high school students to create an enterprise of their own. Students experience how a small enterprise functions by collaborating with peers and business volunteers to design, organize and operate a real business.
[sam id=”15″ codes=”true”]With the support and guidance of teachers and business professionals from the local community, JA’s Company Program gives students the knowledge needed to organize and operate an actual business enterprise. Students will learn what risks and rewards come with owning a business and how to build positive relationships with the community. While operating their business, participants will sell shares, produce and market a product or service, and appoint a management team that best suits their company. They will also learn to maintain and analyze financial records that will help them establish and monitor production and sales goals during the span of the program. To register or for more information please contact:
