The massive storm that was supposed to be worse than anything between now and the 1960’s didn’t quite materialize. The third storm, which was to hit on Saturday, sort of petered out before it reached our shores. Having said that, there were still four areas that lost power, affecting about 1,100 hydro customers. There were also reports of downed trees and transformers, so, while for some it was a non-event, others were affected.
Sooke Fire Rescue Service issued the following notice on Facebook this morning.
Today’s weather? According to the SPN Weather Page, “Today is forecast to be nearly the same temperature as yesterday. Scattered thunderstorms possible.” Chance of rain is 60%. High is 12C. Moderate winds coming from SSE at 10 to 15 km/h.
Welcome back to normal!
