Sooke Region’s fruit trees have been producing an abundance of apples over the past several years. This year the trees seem to be taking a break with lower fruit production. This has affected the Sooke Apple Festival and, as a result, Sooke Food CHI has cancelled this year’s Festival.
But Food CHI can still finds some apples …
We invite people to join us for Sooke Food CHI’s Apple Pressing program. On September 28, Food CHI will launch the year’s first apple pressing where attendees can press their own apples and also buy apples harvested from our Fruit Tree Program and the Community Orchard. There will also be special treats from Beardo’s Bakehouse while they last.
LOCATION: Sunriver Community Gardens, by the gazebo, 10:00 am – 2:00 pm
September 28, October 12 and 26. More information here.
