The Makerspace is a collaborative project being developed in the Sooke community. The Makerspace will provide shared work space, tools, equipment and materials, and hopefully a little inspiration, and users will bring their interests, ideas, creativity, effort and motivation to the making of things. The organizers at EMCS Society would be honored by your presence at the Grand Opening of the Sooke Makerspace. The Grand Opening is a community celebration, so please share this message, bring a friend, and join us for the ribbon cutting!
The space contains a wide variety of tools, equipment, and materials providing education, training and mentoring for the purposes of enabling community members to design, create, invent, tinker, explore, discover and make works that would not be possible with the resources generally available to individuals working alone. It is part workshop, part science/computer/electronics/tech lab and part arts and craft room.
