This afternoon, JRCC Victoria tasked RCMSAR Sta. Sooke to investigate a half-submerged vessel near the US border, south of Secretary Isl.
Sta. Sooke crews reported the vessel didn’t appear to have been recently used and there was no indication anyone was in distress, however it was a hazard to navigation where she sat.
JRCC Victoria requested Sta. Sooke tow the vessel and meet the Victoria CCG Lifeboat for hand-off.
The vessel was handed off to Coast Guard just North of Race Rocks Lighthouse.
