On March 1st 2019, a West Shore RCMP officer stopped a vehicle for speeding in Langford near the intersection of West Shore Parkway and Commander Court.
The officer, who is an experienced drug investigator, became suspicious of the vehicle and the two occupants shortly after the stop. The investigation lead to the arrest of the two occupants for possession of a controlled substance.
A search of the vehicle and occupants lead to a seizure of over $1200 cash and upwards of 18 grams of Crack-Cocaine. Other suspected drugs like ecstasy were also seized by police in the same stop.
The passenger of the vehicle, a 20 year old male, was later released by police by way of a Promise to Appear. The driver was released without charges. Police are still investigating this incident. Neither occupant was a resident of the West Shore area.
