Do you have six-and-a-half minutes to spare? Take this trip down memory lane along highway 14 in 1966 and drive from Colwood to Jordan River in just over six minutes. Slow down at about the 2-minute mark for the blink through Sooke, across a rickety bridge spanning Sooke River. (See the 17 mile pub at 1:49.) Worth the trip!
From the Ministry of Transportation (owner of the video on Youtube:
Get in and buckle up! Our beloved BC Road Trip Time Machine is back in action. This time we set our “flux capacitor” to Highway 14 (also known as West Coast Road) during the summer of 1966.
Highway 14 is the southernmost numbered route in the province, stretching from Langford to Port Renfrew on the southern tip of Vancouver Island.
It’s a long and windy road so, pull up a chair and get ready to take a trip down memory lane.
