For the past seven years Sooke Harbourside Lions has presented “A Taste of BC.” This year’s eighth annual gala evening happens on February 6 at EMCS (7-9:30 p.m., see details below), and showcases select local and regional wine, beer, cider, spirits, non-alcoholic beverages and food. There will also be a silent auction.
The Harbourside Lions work hard each year to attract the best purveyors of food and drink to participate in “A Taste of BC”. This is a unique opportunity for them to showcase their products by offering delicious samples to an appreciative public.
Many vendors will be familiar to Sooke residents and attendees, as each year they have provided scrumptious tastings. The Little Vienna Bakery will be back as will The Stick in The Mud. This year’s event is pleased to welcome many new food providers with their many delectable delights. Newcomers to the beverage tastings include Tod Creek Craft Cider (Prospect Lake Road, Victoria), Enrico Winery (Cobble Hill) and DeVine Vineyards (Saanich).
The Sooke Harbourside Lions Club has been active in Sooke for many years and maintains a high profile in the community. The Club supports many different projects and organizations that help those in need mentally, physically, socially and emotionally. The focus is on children, seniors, challenged people and health. All proceeds from “A Taste of BC” go to support local community initiatives as well as Lions Club International initiatives.
Attending “A Taste of BC” is probably the most satisfying way for you to contribute to the good of the community. Satisfy your desire to help others with your desire to experience a delightful evening of good food and drink, great music and interesting people.
