The SFRS Community Thrift Shop is a BC Hydro Community Champion. We here in Sooke have known it all along, and now it’s been financially confirmed: the SFRS Community Thrift Shop is a winner.
The BC Hydro announced the following on their website.

[sam id=”15″ codes=”true”]The Community Champions Program engages not-for-profit organizations within British Columbia that demonstrate environmental leadership in their community. It provides these not-for-profit organizations a platform to highlight their initiatives that support conservation and the environment for the chance to win a $10,000 Community Champions conservation award.There are a total of five (5) Community Champions conservation awards available to be won by Eligible Organizations, each consisting of a donation of up to ten thousand dollars ($10,000 CDN) distributed over two years ($5,000 for the first year and $5,000 for the second year). Three (3) Community Champions will be selected by Public Voting and two (2) will be awarded by Judges’ Panel. Up to 15 semi-finalists will be eligible for public voting.
