There’s a new entrepreneur in town.
April Crooks, who originally hails from the northern sections of Vancouver Island, brings local coffee and homemade baking to the the coffee corner just inside the Prestige Hotel.
The new cafe (open since August) is called Road to Sooke, and you’ll find April there six days a week (closed on Tuesdays) starting at 6:00 in the morning.
She brews coffee roasted at The Stick. She bakes her own bread (including sour dough), baked goods, and (chocolate) treats. She features local cheeses. And, she’s aiming to bring in local meats from the Black Market Meats.
Her focus is on quality goods, with a strong preference for local.
Visit Road to Sooke online, on Facebook, or best of all … in person, just inside the entrance to the Prestige Hotel, 6929 West Coast Rd. You are welcome to take your coffee and treats anywhere in the hotel’s lobby or onto the upper or lower decks overlooking the beautiful view of the Sooke Harbour and East Sooke.
Treat yourself. You’ll be glad you did.
