With a single-word email (“Yes”) Ingrid Faber-Stein, Director of Leasing at Partners REIT, confirmed that Tim Hortons was the new anchor tenant of the fifth building at the Evergreen Shopping Centre at 6660 Sooke Rd.
The fifth building, which housed RBC and Hub insurance among other businesses, was destroyed five years ago in a June 2013 fire.
Anchor tenants for the other buildings include Western Foods, Shoppers Drug Mart, A&W, and BC Liquor Store.
Evergreen was first built in 1978, and saw a facelift in 2010. In 2011, the mall was acquired by Partners REIT.
Since the 2013 fire, the space has been empty. According to their online portfolio, they are hoping to redevelop the space, bring in new tenants and upgrade the centre.
A timeline was requested, but not provided.
