“The Tugwell Creek fire has continued to grow today due to sustained winds. The winds caused some spotting and the fire is now 85 hectares in size and burning in slash, mature and juvenile standing timber and some felled and bucked timber. BC Wildfire Service is marshaling more resources to suppress this fire including another 20 firefighters en route (bringing the total to 75), two more helicopters en route (total of six) along with the resources already at work. An Incident Management Team will also be located locally to manage the fire on site.”
